the problem of miscommunication
In the theme, passenger comes from Malaysia, just arrives New Zealand for one week, he does not know where the maze is, so he asks bus driver, but bus driver cannot understand what is he talking about because his pronunciation, he has to spell maze to make sure bus driver understand it. Another miscommunication occur when the bus driver says “left “and “ten”, passenger think they are “lift” and “tin” because the Kiwi accent. We show the miscommunication problem by pronunciation through our group presentation.
Our group presentation is about the problem of miscommunication in New Zealand. As New Zealand is a multi-culture country, miscommunication is common. Our group presentation is base on the miscommunication by pronunciation in a conversation between a passenger and a bus driver. Bus driver and passenger cannot understand each other because they come from different country.
In conclusion, as New Zealand is multi-culture country, there are lots of immigrants,12530. because English is not their first language, miscommunication is common. To avoid this situation, I think we should study English more deeply, because it is the language we use everyday, we need it to communicate, to live. Through this group presentation, I understand more about team work, everyone should try his best to prepare the group presentation, because the success comes only through hard work.
Our group members and their jobs: I introduce the group presentation, Taro is bus driver (he is the leader), Alice is passenger, Hashem analyze the role play, and lucyl will draw the conclusion. I do not think our group presentation went very well, everyone was nervous, I speak too fast, and Hashem read half of his analyze because he forget of it, however, fan,I think our role play is perfect, and conclusion is not too bad. The main problem of our group is we don not have enough meetings. 12530.We have two weeks to prepare the group presentation, but we all have the mid term test for Biology in the first week, we are busy with it, so we do not have any meeting during the first week. Another problem is one of our group members, Ahshem, he only came the meeting once and without doing his work, so we cannot practice the role play completely, we have to practice the role play individually; I think Taro should notice Ahshem more early and do his work, so we can practice the presentation more. To improve this group presentation, we need more meetings to practice, and pay more attention to it.
